We are seeking a Senior Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our team, based in Charlotte, NC, with occasional visits to project sites, manufacturing facilities, and other locations. As a change agent, you will foster a culture of continuous improvement, leading process improvements across various levels of the organization.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Challenging the status quo persistently and driving change initiatives.
  • Identifying improvement opportunities, developing, and managing improvement plans, and leading initiatives with business champions and process owners.
  • Leading a potential team of professionals specializing in quality and continuous improvement.
  • Developing a training program in collaboration with process owners and HR to provide employees with lean and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Driving the implementation of innovative ideas, methods, and process improvements using lean six sigma methodology and tools.
  • Analyzing data using statistical data analysis methods.
  • Promoting operational excellence and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Conducting problem-solving, root cause analysis, Gemba Walks, KAIZEN events, and workshops.
  • Facilitating the development of PFMEA and DFMEA.
  • Reviewing and monitoring RCAs, corrective and preventive actions from various sources.
  • Developing and analyzing key performance indicators to track the impact of improvements.
  • Conducting process maturity assessments and internal/supplier audits.
  • Implementing necessary procedures, flow charts, templates in compliance with the Andritz Hydro Management System.
  • Driving lessons learned processes and project postmortem activities.
  • Preparing resource and budget planning.

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent with continuous improvement experience.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in a similar role.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification.
  • Strong proficiency in English, both oral and written.
  • Ability to travel to sites and facilities for short periods.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including persistence, resilience, teamwork, time management, self-discipline, and autonomy.
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of problem-solving, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Hands-on experience executing lean six sigma improvement projects in manufacturing and transactional business environments.
  • Leadership, communication, analytical skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good understanding of project business and construction site quality, health/safety concerns, and technical aspects.
  • Understanding of cost of poor-quality concept and familiarity with capturing them.
  • Understanding of Quality Inspection and GD&T measurement.
  • Understanding of manufacturing, Machin shop, and heavy equipment assembly.
  • Facilitating and developing PFMEA and DFMEA.
  • Understanding of statistical data analysis.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 and quality management system Audit.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and statistical analysis software.
  • Familiarity with non-conformance management system using SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
