The Opportunity:

To excel in a banquet floor setting, you will be responsible for preparing and setting up meetings and functions as specified by event contracts and supervisors. Your congenial, friendly, and efficient manner will ensure a positive experience for both internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Have complete knowledge of the hotel's events services and facilities.
  • Ensure prompt and courteous service is extended to both internal and external customers.
  • Maintain an orderly working environment and inform your manager of any deficiencies.
  • Carry out tasks assigned by your manager or supervisor that pertain to the overall operation of the banquet department.
  • Refresh rooms as assigned by your manager or supervisor.
  • Setup and tear down meeting rooms according to predetermined standards and direction from your manager.
  • Ensure guest service excels at all times.
  • Ensure guests' needs and requirements are carried out with a helpful and timely manner.
  • Complete miscellaneous duties as directed by your supervisor or manager that pertain to the operation of the department.
  • Transport equipment and store it in the appropriate storage rooms in a safe manner.
  • Understand and carry out duties according to all banquet event orders and instructions for each event.
  • Understand all hotel and guests' functions to be able to answer any questions made by guests.
  • Clean banquet rooms, vacuum, mop, and dust as instructed.
  • Ensure fire exits are clean and free of obstructions.

Requirements:

  • You must be a highly motivated individual.
  • You must have an understanding of written and spoken English.
  • You must be flexible with shift work hours.
  • Prior experience is an asset.
  • You must be able to perform physically under pressure.
  • You must be able to handle a hot working environment.
  • You must be able to operate, lift, push, and pull heavy equipment.
