Position Overview:
The Personal Care Support Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering essential personal care and home assistance services to clients within the community. This position is integral to the Home Care team, ensuring that individuals can maintain their independence and quality of life in their own residences.

Key Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Home Care Resource Coordinator, the incumbent will:
• Provide personal care services tailored to the needs of clients, including assistance with daily living activities.
• Implement care plans as directed, ensuring that all services align with the established guidelines.
• Exercise independent judgment and initiative in prioritizing tasks and addressing unique situations that may arise during service delivery.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to promote a supportive and cohesive work environment.

Qualifications:
• Completion of Grade 12 education is mandatory.
• Possession of a Home Care Attendant Certificate or Health Care Aide Certificate from an accredited institution is required.
• Familiarity with Safe Food Handling practices is essential.
• Previous experience in a community setting, particularly with elderly or disabled individuals, is preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team is crucial.
• Strong critical thinking skills and the capacity to respect and promote cultural diversity are necessary.
• Proficiency in both official languages is required for designated bilingual roles.

Employment Conditions:
• Candidates must successfully complete a Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, and relevant registry checks.
• Immunization is required in accordance with health authority policies.
• A valid Class 5 driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage are mandatory.
