Director of Medical Operations

The First Nations Health Authority is a dynamic and innovative health organization that values diversity and excellence. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as Director of Operations, Medical Affairs.
Job SummaryThe Director of Operations, Medical Affairs will provide strategic leadership and direction to the medical staff, including governance, credentialing, and contracting. This role will also be responsible for developing and implementing human resource strategies, including recruitment, compensation models, and cultural safety and humility standards.
Key Responsibilities- Provide operational leadership to medical staff, including governance, credentialing, and contracting
- Develop and implement human resource strategies, including recruitment, compensation models, and cultural safety and humility standards
- Lead the development and implementation of medical administration initiatives related to the delivery of physician services
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with provincial and federal health authorities, as well as Indigenous Services Canada and Health Canada
- Ensure the integration of the medical staff lens and voice into the planning and decision-making processes of the projects
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health Administration, Health Care Administration, or Business Administration, or a relevant field
- Master's degree would be an asset
- Relevant, recent, and significant experience working with medical staff
- Relevant, recent, and significant experience working within BC's health care system
- Experience working with Indigenous individuals, communities, and/or organizations in the area of health and wellness
- Experience planning, supervising, and evaluating programs and services
- Experience in medical affairs and/or medical staff governance would be a considerable asset
- Municipal Pension plan with an employer contribution of 9.4%
- 4 weeks' vacation, which increases with service to 5 weeks, plus 5 personal days, 1 volunteer day, and 14 public holidays
