Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Team Assistant to provide administrative support to our assigned team in their daily activities. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive prompt and effective customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support services to Care Coordinators, including processing new referrals, orders for services, supplies, and equipment.
  • Process and assist in managing confidential patient records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Enter, update, and maintain a high volume of patient data in our electronic database, utilizing your proficiency in database software.
  • Answer a high volume of telephone inquiries from patients, families, and service providers, providing timely and accurate information, and referring callers as necessary.
  • Provide backup support to other positions as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • A college diploma in the health or social services field, or business/office administration, with a minimum of 2 years' related office experience.
  • Accurate keyboarding/data-entry skills, with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and other applications in a Windows environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Advanced multi-tasking skills, with the ability to meet performance and service goals, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team, interact tactfully and sensitively with patients from diverse backgrounds, and provide excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that includes days, evenings, and weekends to meet organizational needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and office administrative procedures/concepts.
  • Knowledge of services provided by Ontario Health atHome.
  • Ability to speak French or another second language.
