About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician to join our Civic Operations Department. As an Engineering Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the preparation of engineering design documentation for municipal infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering design documentation for municipal infrastructure projects using engineering design software.
  • Provide technical support to the Civic Operations Department by preparing and coordinating as-built record drawings and data for submittal to the City's GIS Department.
  • Apply technical expertise to ensure that all work complies with current municipal, Provincial, Federal, and environmental standards.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A two-year post-secondary program in civil engineering technology from a recognized technical institute.
  • Eligibility for certification with the Association of Technologists and Technicians of B.C. (ASTTBC).
  • Two years of experience in the civil engineering field.
  • A mechanical aptitude and knowledge of survey requirements for design and construction activities, utility infrastructure design, elementary engineering and surveying practices and procedures.
  • Advanced computer-aided drafting and design skills.
