We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Remediation Specialist to join our Project Engineering Design and Construction team in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Ontario.
Key Responsibilities- Support strategic pursuits focused on federal sector and private industrial clients.
- Work on a wide variety of environmental remediation projects, including PRB, Slurry walls, and liner/cap/cover scope.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams to provide environmental advice to other GHD teams.
- Stay current on standard methodologies for innovative remediation approaches.
- Manage design projects, including budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
- Develop and review technical environmental reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Opportunity to work on local, national, and global projects, which may require some travel.
- Support and mentor junior team members in a learning and collaborative atmosphere.
- Accredited Professional Engineer in Canada or the US.
- Civil or environmental engineering degree.
- Possession of. designation to be used to stamp/certify designs.. designation is considered an asset.
- 5+ years of experience.
- Experience with developing and implementing strategies for complex remediation and/or risk management.
- Experience in the technical delivery of investigations, designs, including drawings and specifications, and construction support for environmental remediation projects in Canada and the US.
- Experience and desire to provide high-profile clients with responsive and innovative solutions.
- Experience working on Canadian and/or US Federal projects is considered an asset.
- Proven experience in client advocacy while developing trusted relationships with regulators.
- Strong understanding of Canadian (including Ontario) environmental legislation.
- Understanding US environmental legislation is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and report-writing skills.
- Strong commitment to client service excellence.
- Initiative-taking.
