Job Details

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Outdoor Kindergarten Teacher to join our team at Athabasca Delta Community School in Fort Chipewyan, Alberta. As a member of our school community, you will have the opportunity to work with students, parents, and the community to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching the Early Years program to a diverse group of students. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of all learners. Your expertise in outdoor education will be invaluable in creating a unique and enriching learning experience for our students.

Responsibilities
  • Teach the Early Years program to a diverse group of students
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of all learners
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Use technology as a tool for teaching and learning
  • Integrate experiential and/or inquiry-based learning opportunities into the curriculum
  • Provide timely feedback on student learning
  • Administer first aid as required
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Education Degree
  • Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, First Aid, and Mental Health First Aid would be an asset
  • Experience teaching Early Years level would be an asset
  • Strong background in assessment as well as differentiating instruction experience is a definite asset
