About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Outdoor Kindergarten teacher to join our team at Athabasca Delta Community School in Fort Chipewyan, Alberta. As an Outdoor Kindergarten educator, you will have the opportunity to work with students in a unique and dynamic learning environment that combines outdoor education with traditional classroom instruction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that incorporate outdoor education and hands-on learning experiences
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Assess and report student progress, using a variety of assessment tools and strategies
  • Provide individualized support to students with diverse learning needs
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with best practices in outdoor education
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Education degree and valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
  • Experience teaching Early Years level and strong background in assessment and differentiating instruction
  • Good oral and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and patient approach
