We are seeking a skilled and organized Optical Assistant to join our team at Havenview Optics Inc. As an essential member of our clinical support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our optical retail store.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our optometrists and ophthalmologists. Key responsibilities include:

  • Administering eye drops, ointments, and medications as directed by ophthalmologists
  • Developing information materials for patients, including educational handouts and promotional materials
  • FOLLOWING THROUGH on treatment programs with patients, including scheduling follow-up appointments and monitoring patient progress
  • Maintaining accurate prescription records and test results, as well as tracking medications given by ophthalmologists
  • Ensuring the efficient maintenance of supplies and inventory, including ordering and restocking as needed
  • Providing general clerical support, including data entry, filing, and answering phone calls
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments, as well as managing patient waitlists and flow
  • Taking patients' medical and ophthalmic history, including reviewing medical charts and documenting patient information

You will work closely with our optometrists and ophthalmologists to ensure seamless communication and collaboration throughout the patient's journey. Your excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail will make you an invaluable asset to our team.

Requirements:

  • A strong understanding of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • An ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision

  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges

We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 - $55,000 per year, commensurate with experience. In addition, you will enjoy a range of benefits, including free parking, opportunities for professional development, and a supportive team environment.
