Job Summary

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Program Assistant to provide administrative support to the Public Health Unit. This temporary full-time opportunity is for a period up to three months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to management and staff to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of Health Unit services.
  • Assist with clinic and appointment scheduling, records management, and documentation processes.
  • Manage inventory and resource supply, including tracking, sourcing, and purchasing of office and clinic supplies.
  • Operate and maintain equipment, and coordinate meetings, workshops, and events.
  • Develop and maintain schedules and event calendars, and perform data entry into provincial databases.
  • Participate in the development of operational plans, objectives, and workplans, and document activities.

Requirements

  • College certificate or diploma in office administration, preferably with experience in a similar role.
  • Two to four years of related administrative experience, with excellent communication and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles and experience with social media is an asset.
  • Ability to communicate in both written and oral French is an asset.

Work Environment

  • This position works indoors and requires occasional evening hours.
  • A valid Province of Ontario driver's license with a reliable motor vehicle is preferred.
