About the Role

This entry-level position is an ideal opportunity for individuals with a strong work ethic and mechanical aptitude to advance their careers through on-the-job training and job progression. As a Feeder/Catcher, you will be responsible for assuming various duties, including feeding flat cartons into gluing machines and removing products from presses to pack into cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual labor duties in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while adhering to tight production deadlines.
  • Monitor and maintain the glue machinery to ensure proper functioning and quality carton feeding.
  • Take stacks of cartons from loaded pallets and place them into the feeder of the gluer machine/press.
  • Ensure that only quality cartons are fed into the machines, observing for any malfunctions or issues.
  • Remove finished folded cartons from the press and pack them into cases.
  • Catch and pack only quality products, performing quality checks according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Apply correct case labels to corrugated cases.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the area by removing stray cartons, sweeping up, and performing other tasks as required.
  • Perform basic preventative care and troubleshooting of machinery/equipment.
  • Safely perform all tasks on and around the machinery/equipment.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Attend ongoing training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Prior experience in manufacturing or machine operations is preferred, but not required.
  • On-the-job training will be provided to develop skills and expertise.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand/power tools are highly valued.
  • Strong dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work at a fast pace are essential.
  • English language proficiency, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including reading computer screens.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, with frequent twisting and lifting.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks and lift routine items.
  • Demonstrated excellent attendance record and willingness to work a weekly rotational shift schedule.
  • Familiarity with and adherence to company safety policies and government legislation.

Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on location and experience. Additionally, our benefits package includes comprehensive health insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off, and opportunities for career growth and advancement.
