Arctic Co-ops is seeking an experienced and skilled Hotel Cook Manager to lead our hotel operations in Nunavut.

About the Role

This full-time position requires a proactive and results-driven individual who can ensure a high level of customer service, effective administration of hotel operations, and excellent food services.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring optimal customer relations by responding effectively to customer enquiries and requests;
  • Managing the reservation system, registering incoming guests, preparing guest portfolios, checking out guests, and ensuring payments are current;
  • Providing transportation services to and from the airport as needed;
  • Effectively organizing and overseeing all hotel duties, including filing, ordering, preparing and sending customer invoices, and basic office procedures;
  • Conducting day-end closing procedures, reconciling reports, and reporting any shortages or reconciliation issues with the General Manager; ensuring daily deposits are made;
  • Processing all incoming and outgoing transfers, invoices, and charges;
  • Ordering hotel and restaurant supplies and maintaining adequate inventory levels;
  • Overseeing housekeeping duties and responsibilities;
  • Hiring, training, providing direction, scheduling, and evaluating staff for the hotel/food services; advising the General Manager of areas necessitating discipline;
  • Recording and organizing payroll records, including timesheets, schedules, and related payroll files and employee records;
  • Approving payroll, staff timesheets, and submitting them to the General Manager for processing;
  • Ensuring the hotel and restaurant operate in a professional manner, adhering to regulations and legislated standards;
  • Coordinating maintenance and repairs to the facility per the General Manager's guidelines;
Requirements

We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills, excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, and experience in hotel management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing hotel operations, supervising staff, and providing exceptional customer service.
