Job Summary

As a key member of our management team, the Industrial Operations Director at EVRAZ North America will play a crucial role in driving business success by overseeing site operations, managing a team, and ensuring compliance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Site Operations Management

The Industrial Operations Director will be responsible for coordinating site operations, including sales, production, purchasing, customer service, and managing a team to ensure the site remains safe and environmentally compliant.

Team Leadership

The ideal candidate will have 3 years of management or leadership experience in industrial manufacturing, automotive, or distribution and possess proven leadership and communication skills. They will be responsible for providing performance feedback, counseling, coaching, and training to the team.

Compliance and Safety

The Industrial Operations Director will work closely with Health Safety and Environment to meet and implement company standards. They will also conduct weekly audit tours of the facility to ensure policies and procedures are communicated and implemented.

Reporting and Analysis

The successful candidate will prepare operating reports for the management and operations team to ensure overall safeguarding of company assets. They will also analyze process workflow, employee and space requirements, and equipment layout to implement changes.

Equipment Maintenance and Inventory Management

The Industrial Operations Director will develop and maintain an equipment maintenance schedule and coordinate and maintain parts inventory to ensure continuous production/operations in case of equipment outage.

Regulatory Compliance

The ideal candidate will establish and enforce standards and procedures, comply with legal regulations to maintain a safe and healthy work environment, and work with Transport Canada on rail safety and securement.

Hiring and Development

The Industrial Operations Director will hire, train, develop, monitor, and evaluate staff performance. They will also review and recommend personnel actions for approval.

Requirements
  • 3 years of management or leadership experience in industrial manufacturing, automotive, or distribution
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Proven leadership and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Solid quantitative skills to understand site financial performance and operating statistics (KPIs)
  • Bilingual in English and French preferred, but not required
  • Ability to reconcile sales, prepare reports, and read technical manuals
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities while efficiently performing quality work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work required hours which includes weekends and holidays and also at any site assigned within reasonable distance from the home site
