Job Summary

We are seeking a Strategic Portfolio Manager, Health Platforms to join our team at Alberta Innovates.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in leading and managing program(s) within the Health Platforms portfolio. This position involves identifying opportunities and relationships to co-develop, co-define, and co-deliver measurable activities and outcomes that promote economic investment/attraction, a learning, value-based health system, and Alberta advantage.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the management of program(s), including mapping the critical path, ensuring completion of activities and outcomes, and course-correcting as needed.
  • Lead the evaluation and facilitation of investments, creating value-add linkages and partnerships to achieve potential outcomes and impacts.
  • Act as a resource to stakeholders, overcoming challenges and barriers they may encounter.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to program and portfolio evaluation and measurement by developing strategies and reporting tools.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a health-related and/or business program.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a research and innovation administration environment.
  • Broad knowledge of the health and innovation environment in Alberta.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to manage resources, time, stress, and work under pressure.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a strong benefits package and generous vacation and paid time off programs to promote work-life balance.
