We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll and Benefits Clerk to join our team at St. Josephs Health Centre. As a key member of our Corporate Services division, you will be responsible for preparing and processing biweekly payroll for all four of our organizations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all data input, deductions, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Enter and maintain employee database information
- Manage accruals for seniority, vacation time, overtime, and statutory holidays
- Advise on pension and insurance issues and manage employee enrollments and updates
- Issue and reconcile pay stubs, T4 Statements of Remuneration, Records of Employment, and other official documentation
- Liaise closely with HR, Scheduling, department managers, and benefits/pension providers
- Assist staff with entitlement issues related to legislated, medical, WSIB, long-term disability, or personal leaves of absence
- Assist retiring or terminating employees with continuance of benefits, pension transfers, and related issues
- Provide customer service to staff to advise on payroll issues, policy interpretation, collective agreement language, and general entitlements
- Completion of or (minimally) registration in the Canadian Payroll Association Certification
- Diploma in Accounting, Business, Business Administration, Bookkeeping, Financial Management, or related field
- Two years of demonstrated experience in payroll administration is an asset
- Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination (2 Doses)
