We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Support Specialist to join our team at Horry County Schools. The successful candidate will provide behavioral supports and services to students with autism spectrum disorders and/or behavior challenges in the least restrictive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement programs and best practices related to instruction for students with autism spectrum disorders and other disabilities.
- Conduct functional behavioral analysis and assessments for individual students.
- Create and implement behavior plans, services, and other programs for students with autism spectrum disorders and/or other disabilities.
- Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) teams and provide support for the implementation of behavior plans.
- Provide coaching and modeling to school staff on data collection, data analysis, and behavioral interventions and supports.
- Manage student data and prepare reports.
- Develop materials and deliver professional learning to school staff on evidence-based methodologies for working with students with autism spectrum disorders and other disabilities.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst Certification (BCaBA) preferred.
- Minimum 3 years experience working with students with autism spectrum disorders.
- Experience working in an educational setting preferred.
The work environment is a school/classroom setting. The successful candidate must be able to perform the essential duties of the job and meet the minimum qualifications.
