Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Agent to join our team at Brightshores. As a Patient Service Agent, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our Medical Imaging department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Register and book patient appointments, ensuring accurate and timely scheduling.
- Interview and confirm patient visits, gathering necessary information and documentation.
- Enter scheduled orders and maintain data quality, ensuring accurate and up-to-date patient information.
- Utilize Cerner ESM and other clinical systems to manage patient data and schedules.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to patient inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Collaborate with the Medical Imaging team to ensure seamless patient flow and efficient department operations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to process enhancements.
Requirements:
- High school diploma and/or post-secondary medical secretarial education or equivalent.
- Successful completion of PM Access training and certification.
- Proven experience in clinical scheduling environments, with expertise in Cerner ESM.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and physicians.
- Attention to detail and accuracy, with a strong focus on data quality and patient safety.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Microsoft Office experience, with proficiency in Word and other relevant software applications.
- Typing speed of 30 WPM, with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Medical terminology knowledge and understanding of patient safety principles.
- Ability to work all shifts, including weekends, and adapt to changing department needs.
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record, with a commitment to Brightshores' CARE Behaviours and LEAD Competencies.
