About the Role

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support our field operations and leadership team in coordinating the building process for wood-frame condominiums in Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, or Coquitlam. This role will involve directing and owning project performance, including costs, schedule, quality assurance, and project status.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors to ensure projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget;
  • Develop and manage project scope, schedule, costs, and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility;
  • Work with our project accounting team to submit progress claims, provide forecasts, cost-to-complete, invoice reviews, and cost management;
  • Manage and maintain strong relationships with vendors, third-party contacts, consultants, engineers, and subtrade partners through effective communication;
  • Ensure efficiency, quality, technical competence, and fair management of trades and suppliers;
  • Assist the Project Manager in contract negotiations and management with our trades, updating the construction schedule, preparing change order management, and preparing progress draws;
  • Coordinate and maintain comprehensive project documentation in a detail-oriented manner;
  • Track procurement of equipment and material and report on delivery dates that may impact project schedule;
  • Review Site Instructions with the Project Coordination team, communicate key elements to Site Superintendents and Project Managers;
  • Collaborate with Trade Partners to ensure fair Change Order pricing is provided in a timely manner;
  • Guide the Project Coordinator team by answering questions and overseeing quality and accuracy of tasks completed.
Requirements
  • At least three to five (3-5) years of experience working on-site, on residential wood-frame projects as part of a general contractor;
  • Proficiency in Procore, MS Project, and other construction-related software is an asset;
  • Post-secondary education in Building Technology, Construction Management, or a similar field is an asset;
  • Excellent interpersonal, professional, and business communication skills to interact with external and internal stakeholders;
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines;
  • Willingness to work on-site and be part of the action;
  • Academic experience or professional exposure to Design or VCON is an asset.
