District Health and Safety Manager - Prevention

Central Okanagan Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled District Health and Safety Manager - Prevention to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing health and safety strategies to prevent injuries and illnesses in our schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigation
  • Provide training and education to staff on health and safety protocols
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a safe and healthy work environment

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. occupational health and safety, public health)
  • Proven experience in health and safety management, preferably in an educational setting
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
