Job Title: District Health and Safety Manager

Central Okanagan Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead our district's health and safety programs and services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our staff and students, as well as providing guidance and support to our schools and work locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement health and safety programs and services to meet the needs of our district.
  2. Provide guidance and support to our schools and work locations on health and safety matters.
  3. Collaborate with local and provincial authorities to develop and test emergency procedures.
  4. Participate in district health and safety advisory committees and wellness initiatives.
  5. Identify and coordinate employee safety training.
  6. Manage the district's health and safety department, including the Health and Safety Manager - WorkSafe Injury Management.
Requirements:
  1. Formal post-secondary education/training in Health and Safety Management.
  2. Minimum of ten years of experience as a health and safety professional, preferably in a school district setting and/or in a large multi-union environment.
  3. CSRP designation preferred.
