We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist II to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As an Occupational Therapist II, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our clients and contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Job Summary:

The Occupational Therapist II will work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide long-term care occupational therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation. You will work with clients to promote functional independence and enable them to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial and ongoing client assessments to identify needs and develop treatment plans
  • Provide occupational therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to promote client-focused care
  • Participate in departmental/program quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and education
  • Provide work direction to rehabilitation assistants as needed
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program
  • Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia
  • Valid BC Driver's license
Skills and Abilities:
  • Assessment and treatment skills, including the ability to complete initial and ongoing client assessments
  • Teaching skills, including the ability to teach clients and others both one-on-one and in groups
  • Knowledge integration skills, including the ability to integrate best practice and current research evidence to support professional practice decisions and actions
  • Communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, the public, medical staff, and the members of the interdisciplinary team
  • Critical thinking skills, including the ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data to problem-solve and make decisions effectively
