Occupational Therapist II

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist II to join our Community and Long-Term Care Services team at Northern Health Authority. As an Occupational Therapist II, you will be responsible for providing long-term care occupational therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription, and education of residents/clients/patients and/or their caregivers/staff to promote functional independence and enable the client to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide occupational therapy services to residents/clients/patients in long-term care facilities, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription, and education of residents/clients/patients and/or their caregivers/staff.
• Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to residents/clients/patients.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to promote functional independence and enable the client to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes.
• Provide education and training to residents/clients/patients, caregivers, and staff on occupational therapy services and techniques.
• Participate in departmental/program quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and education.
• Provide work direction to rehabilitation assistants working with the rehabilitation team in regards to transfer of function.
Requirements
• Graduation from a recognized occupational therapy program.
• Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia. Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists or British Columbia Society of Occupational Therapists.
• Valid BC Driver's license.
