Black & McDonald's Power Generation team is growing, and we're looking for a collaborative professional to join our hard-working, innovative team.

The Project Coordinator is a key member of the project team responsible for delivering modification projects of varying size and complexity. This role involves planning, organizing, directing, and controlling project activities from start to finish according to schedule, specifications, and budget, and dealing with project changes under the direction of a Project Manager (PM) & Program Manager (PgM).

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Plan and execute projects in accordance with Corporate Policy, managing all day-to-day project management activities.
  2. Assist the PM in drafting and issuing project budget, cash flow, and preliminary schedule, and prepare project organization and communication charts.
  3. Support the project management team in coordinating project planning activities, chair project meetings, and distribute minutes to all project team members.
  4. Track the progress and quality of work being performed by design disciplines/trades, and use project scheduling and control tools to monitor projects plans, work hours, budgets, and expenditures.
  5. Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients, review work/contracts/WIP for areas of risk, and correct deficiencies.
  6. Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the client and project team, and maintain Contract Execution Tracking Log.
  7. Track and manage contemplated change notices and change orders in the database, prepare substantial completion certificates, and ensure all required project close-out documents are obtained.
  8. Keep the Project Manager (PM) and others informed about project status and issues that may impact client relations, and work with project management team to develop tools and templates.
  9. Implement processes and procedures, conduct training sessions when necessary, and coordinate all project management, engineering, and construction activities.
  10. Support the project management team in monitoring project performance (cost, schedule, quality) and assist in completing and distributing regular project reports (including issues, status, and KPI's) to key stakeholders.
  11. Support the coordination of project close-out activities and transfer to operations.

  1. Bachelors' Degree, Diploma, Certificate or related
Work Experience Requirements
  1. 2+ years of experience as a Project Coordinator role or equivalent for nuclear power plant industry or related construction/industrial projects
  2. Experience on projects with medium risk and complexity preferred
Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements
  1. Basic understanding of project management, engineering, and construction processes, procedures, and relevant software
  2. Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and analytical skills
  3. Proficient in MS Project and/or Primavera and the MS Office Suite of products
  4. Effective communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation skills
  5. Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment
  6. Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  7. A Client Security Clearance will be required
