About the Role

Famous Wok is seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality food preparation and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Execution

Develop and implement menus that meet the tastes and dietary needs of our customers. Plan and prepare complete meals or individual dishes and foods, ensuring that they are presented in an appealing and appetizing manner.

Inventory Management

Requisition food and kitchen supplies, maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, and ensure that our kitchen is well-stocked and organized.

Cleanliness and Safety

Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure that they meet health and safety standards. Clean kitchen and work areas, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Customer Service

Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, and provide excellent customer service to ensure that our customers have a positive dining experience.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Support for Diverse Groups

Participate in government or community programs that support persons with disabilities, newcomers and refugees, youth, veterans, Indigenous people, and visible minorities. Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for these groups.

Teamwork and Communication

Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to ensure that our customers receive excellent service.

Requirements
  • Education and Experience

No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field is preferred.

Work Language

English is the primary language spoken in our kitchen, and proficiency in English is required.

Work Term

This is a permanent position, and we offer a competitive salary and benefits package.

Hours of Work

40 hours per week, with flexibility to work varying shifts as needed.
