Health Care Attendant

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health Care Attendant to join our team at Verve Senior Living. As a Health Care Attendant, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide cognitive, social, and emotional support to residents, according to their care plan and in a manner that promotes comfort, safety, and well-being.
- Support residents' optimal level of functioning in their activities of daily living while respecting their rights and choices.
- Perform care procedures in accordance with the standards of resident care as set out in the established policies and procedures.
- Responsible for observing and reporting/documenting changes in the residents' physical and emotional condition, as well as monitoring vital signs.
- Assist in monitoring of specific interventions regularly and offers information or suggestions for improvement.
- Provide ongoing support to co-workers and acts as advocate for residents and families to ensure residents' rights are protected.
Requirements:
- Minimum of grade 12 education required.
- Has obtained certificate from an approved Health Care Aide program, HCA will need to complete training related to the care they are providing; and a current Alberta Health Care Aide directory registration.
- Certified in Emergency First Aid and CPR required.
- Previous experience as a Health Care Attendant working with seniors is considered an asset.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, in the English language, nurturing excellent human relations with residents, families and other team members.
