About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aide to join our team at Bethany Calgary. As a Health Care Aide, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents, promoting their independence, dignity, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resident-Centered Care: Provide personalized care and support to residents, assisting with activities of daily living, and promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
- Documentation: Accurately document and report resident care and observations to the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, ensuring timely and comprehensive documentation.
- Safety: Contribute to a safe environment for residents, team members, and self by adhering to safety guidelines and practices, and demonstrating knowledge of emergency preparedness and response policies.
- Pro-active Learner: Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, aligning with the values and mission of Bethany.
- Team Work: Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and change resident care needs, promoting a culture of teamwork and respect.
Requirements:
- Grade 10 education and Government of Alberta approved Health Care Aide certificate
- Registered with the Government of Alberta Health Care Aide Directory
- Previous Health Care Aide experience is preferred but not required
- Ability to work effectively in a physically and mentally demanding environment
- Demonstrates ability to understand, speak, read, and write effectively in English
- Excellent observation, communication, and problem-solving skills
