Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Funeral Arranger to join our team at Service Corporation International. As a Funeral Arranger, you will play a vital role in facilitating funeral arrangements and providing exceptional customer service to families during their time of need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Arrange Funeral Services
    • Conduct funeral arrangement discussions with next of kin, presiding over visitation, funeral, and graveside services in accordance with family wishes, company expectations, and local laws.
    • Collaborate with funeral directors to ensure compliance with mortuary, health, and vital statistics regulations within the funeral establishment.
  • Schedule Appointments
    • Receive or initiate calls to deceased next of kin, exhibiting concern and empathy, and scheduling appointment confirmations via email.
    • Perform removals or transfers adhering to company standards and processes, ensuring respectful care for the deceased.
  • Assist with Event Planning
    • Coordinate event planning responsibilities, including resource allocation, music, flowers, and catering, to fulfill arrangement requests.
    • Produce memorials, scanning photos, ordering memorabilia or stationery, creating electronic presentations, writing obituaries, and creating online memorials.
  • Maintain Compliance
    • Work under general guidance, adhering to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks, collaborating with peers and managers as needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Licenses
    • Graduated from an accredited school or college of mortuary science.
    • Current Funeral Director license as required by provincial regulations.
  • Experience and Skills
    • Industry experience is preferred.
    • Cognitive abilities, process-oriented mindset, and effective communication skills.
    • Able to build professional relationships, adapt to new situations, and work independently.
  • Physical Demands
    • Frequent sitting or standing up to 6 hours per day, occasional climbing stairs, and ability to push/pull 150 pounds.
Compensation

$27.90 - $36.05/hr
