Job Title: Director of Philanthropy - National Office

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Philanthropy to join our national team at BullyingCanada Inc. (BCI). As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving fundraising revenue nationally through mid-level and major gifts fundraising.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading fundraising campaigns with revenue targets of $100k+. You will be responsible for developing and executing short-term and long-term development goals, ensuring increased revenue year-over-year. This role requires a strong ability to identify and secure new donors, including foundations, individuals, and grants.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and execute fundraising strategies to achieve revenue targets.
  2. Identify and secure new donors, including foundations, individuals, and grants.
  3. Strengthen and expand revenue development opportunities with existing donors.
  4. Recruit new corporate and foundation donors and develop customized stewardship strategies.
  5. Ensure all fundraising initiatives and donor cultivation are in keeping with relevant Foundation policies and practices.
  6. Assist in recruiting, engaging, and retaining qualified employees to meet organization priorities.
  7. Provide regular reports on fund development status updates and goals.
  8. Develop prospect solicitation strategies and proposals.
  9. Develop, monitor, and manage grant and foundation applications.
  10. Develop, build, and support relationships with current and potential funders.
  11. Write reports, proposals, and correspondence on issues related to grants and foundations.
  12. Research and seek out new opportunities to apply for grants and foundations.
  13. Experience in leveraging AI tools to generate comprehensive reports and documents related to fundraising and fund development activities.
Requirements
  1. Post-secondary education in business or fundraising, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  2. Proven background in leading fundraising campaigns with revenue targets of $100k+.
  3. 5-7 years of experience in a fundraising/management role in the not-for-profit or charitable sectors.
  4. Proven ability to take initiative and carry projects to completion with minimal supervision.
  5. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple projects within tightly prescribed timelines.
  6. Superior communication abilities with a persuasive writing style and strong verbal skills in English.
  7. The ability to convey compelling stories and messages that are tailored to unique stakeholder groups.
  8. Ability to manage multiple projects with various timelines and handle competing and changing priorities.
  9. Proactive problem solver, solution-oriented, displays sound decision-making and judgment.
  10. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  11. Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and creativity.
  12. Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  13. Experience with relational databases.
  14. Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  15. High energy, enthusiastic, and passionate about fundraising.
Assets

Fluency in French; CFRE designation (or working towards).

Work Environment

This is a commission-based position (upon successful grant applications) with the potential of becoming a salary-based position after a 6-month probation period. Fully-Remote Position:

  1. Full-Time (40 hours per week).
  2. 1 Year Contract with possible extension (NOTE: There is a 6-month probation period).
  3. Paid 1 hour lunch break.
  4. Employee Benefits (Drug, Vision, Medical, EAP, etc % coverage, paid by the employer.
  5. Paid Day Off on your Birthday
  6. 20 paid vacation days, paid personal days, paid sick days, paid mental health days, time off during Holiday Season.

  8. Ability to work flexible hours (Office Hours are Mon-Thurs 8-5 Atlantic, Off on Friday); some evening and weekend work may be required.
