The Indian Ocean Territories Administration (IOTA) is currently seeking a qualified and driven individual to fill the role of Health Service Manager (HSM) within the Indian Ocean Territories Health Service (IOTHS).

The IOTHS provides comprehensive primary and acute health care services in some of Australia's most isolated and beautiful locations. The service includes a fully operational 24-hour hospital and primary care facility, alongside clinics on various islands. The IOTHS is dedicated to fostering health and well-being within the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver clinical leadership and oversee the operational management of the IOTHS;
  2. Foster a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach to quality health care in a diverse cultural setting;
  3. Ensure all operations adhere to governance frameworks and budgetary constraints;
  4. Formulate, execute, and assess the strategic vision of the IOTHS in collaboration with the Director;
  5. Maintain accreditation standards across all operational functions.
Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in leadership and operational management within a health service or similar environment. This includes experience in managing financial, human, physical, and intellectual resources. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in clinical and corporate governance systems, including accreditation standards, and have a history of building positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders while ensuring effective public relations. A strong commitment to fostering a culture of customer service, quality health outcomes, and continuous improvement is essential.

Requirements:

The successful applicant must be eligible for a security clearance at Baseline Vetting Level (must be an Australian Citizen), possess a current class C Drivers Licence, and hold a valid Working with Children Check. Additionally, the candidate will be subject to a health assessment.
