About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Development Officer to join our team at Rome Group. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to achieve our organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Fundraising
    • Develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan to achieve annual fundraising targets
    • Identify and cultivate major gift prospects, including individuals, corporations, and foundations
    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, board members, and community leaders
  • Leadership and Management
    • Lead and manage a team of fundraising professionals to achieve fundraising goals
    • Provide coaching and guidance to team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed
  • Marketing and Communications
    • Develop and implement a marketing and communications plan to promote our organization and its mission
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement a comprehensive branding strategy
  • Grant Writing and Research
    • Research and identify potential grant opportunities
    • Write and submit grant proposals to secure funding for our programs and services
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree required; CFRE certification preferred
    • 7-10 years of experience in fundraising, preferably in a non-profit organization
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Proven track record of success in fundraising, including major gifts, annual giving, and grant writing
    • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
