About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Substitute Educational Assistant to join our team at Grasslands Public Schools. As a Substitute Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students in their educational journey, providing assistance with instruction, social, and behavioral needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students in instruction, social, and behavioral needs
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver quality programming to early learners
  • Collaborate with school staff, including classroom teachers and administration, to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
  • Encourage positive interactions between students and staff
  • Perform activities such as lifting, transferring, and providing personal care, as necessary
  • Participate in student school activities, such as swimming or outdoor sports, and engage with students in a supportive and inclusive manner
Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Post-secondary training is an asset but not a requirement
  • Ability to establish trust and rapport with students
  • Strong communication skills, written, verbal, and reading
  • Ability to assist with all subject areas
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Organized and able to follow plans and meet deadlines
  • Understanding and appreciation of Grasslands Public Schools' mission and values
  • Able to contribute to a classroom environment that supports diversity and inclusion
  • Respect and value all individuals with sensitivity to diversity
  • Personal integrity and trustworthiness
  • Understanding of how the role of Educational Assistant impacts the community
