As a prominent Geotechnical Engineering Professional, you will contribute to the growth of our team at myOrthos, delivering high-quality services across various geotechnical projects.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity is designed for experienced Geotechnical Engineers who want to take on new challenges and lead teams in their technical expertise. As an integral part of our Geotechnical division, you will be responsible for managing geotechnical investigations, providing technical input, and overseeing risk management for multiple projects.

You will work closely with a diverse group of professionals, utilizing your skills in geotechnical analysis, design, and consulting to deliver top-notch results. Your experience in seismic engineering, marine and land base piling analysis, and slope hazard assessments will be valuable assets in this role.

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with your level of experience. This figure takes into account the average annual salaries for similar positions in Western Canada, reflecting the company's commitment to attracting and retaining top talent.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead geotechnical investigations, interpretation, and documentation of results for various transportation, municipal, land development, and resource-related projects.
  • Conduct geotechnical analysis of stability, stress, deformation, and foundation response using industry-standard software platforms.
  • Provide technical input, oversight, and risk management for geotechnical projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards are met.
  • Coordinate field projects, including prequalification, safety clearances, and procurement of sub-contractors and sub-consultants as needed.
  • Cultivate business development opportunities through internal and external partnerships to grow the business.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A university degree in Geotechnical/Geological Engineering or Civil Engineering with a geotechnical emphasis.
  • A minimum of 2 to 8+ years of progressive experience in relevant geotechnical fields, with expertise in geotechnical engineering analysis, design, and consulting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry-standard software platforms, such as AutoCAD and geotechnical software (RocScience, GeoStudio).
  • Strong technical, oral, and written communication skills, as well as project management abilities, including budgeting and financial monitoring.
  • An ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
