As we continue to grow our business and enhance our service offerings locally, we are eagerly seeking a highly motivated, technically competent, and entrepreneurially minded Geotechnical Engineer to join our local St. John’s, NL office.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
Prepare technical and price proposals for a variety of geotechnical service offerings. Coordinate and manage geotechnical field investigations, geotechnical analysis & design, materials testing, and construction supervision assignments. Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers, municipal staff, and other stakeholders and third parties to accomplish required project objectives. Coordinate materials laboratory testing requirements for various projects with Lab Manager. Maintain monthly records per Canadian Council of Independent Laboratories (CCIL) requirements as CCIL Supervising Professional (SP) in maintaining laboratory CCIL certification. Review and interpret monitoring information from geotechnical instrumentation programs. Conduct detailed design and analysis for a variety of geotechnical projects. Coordinate and participate in field investigations and QA/QC inspections. Perform independent studies, analyses, interpretations and conclusions. Write and review technical reports. Develop and maintain business relationships with clients. Support the development of the Earth & Environmental group by developing relationships with existing and future client contacts, attending meetings, and supporting Business Development initiatives.What your experience looks like
Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical, Civil or Geological Engineering with a post-graduate degree preferred, with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering. Member in good standing with Professional Engineers and Geoscientist of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL), or ability to register with PEGNL (. designation is required). A minimum of five years of relevant experience in Geotechnical and/or Civil engineering. Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong organizational and time management skills, including multi-tasking and prioritizing. Strong problem-solving skills. Familiarity with standard construction procedures and methodologies. Ability to work in a team environment. Valid driver’s license and vehicle. #LI-BP1
