Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to oversee surface and underground projects at Barrick Hemlo site, ensuring safe delivery, effective quality control, and clear communication with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans for surface, processing, and tailings management.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses, risk analyses, and return on investment calculations to determine project feasibility.
  • Coordinate with departments and area managers to ensure project objectives and deliverables are met on schedule and budget.
  • Manage project activities throughout the lifecycle, including resource allocation, scheduling, documentation, budget, and other factors necessary for success.
  • Organize project teams and guide them to produce deliverables according to specification.
  • Establish and maintain project tracking and reporting, communicating with stakeholders through meetings and presentations.
  • Ensure Management of Change process is completed and followed.
  • Reallocate resources across multiple projects, identifying and resolving resource allocation discrepancies.
  • Closely monitor the efforts and billing of third-party workers, such as consultants, contractors, and other specialists.
  • Conduct project postmortems to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations based on findings.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical field (preferred but not necessary depending on experience).
  • At least 5-10 years of experience in the mining industry, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in Project Management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) training or certification.
  • Proven track record in managing underground and surface mining projects, including processing and tailings facilities.
  • Strong understanding of mining operations, mineral processing, and tailings management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in challenging environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Willingness to relocate (preferred).
