Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced instructor to join our team as a Social Innovation and Community Development Specialist. As an instructor in our Social Innovation and Community Development training program, you will be responsible for providing post-secondary education that prepares adult learners for a career in the Community Development field.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver lessons within hybrid learning environments, utilizing knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite and basic accounting principles.
- Instruct adult learners in a variety of social service areas, adapting to various learning styles and using different modalities such as lectures, labs, and creative approaches.
- Evaluate student performance, grade, and revise content as required, while monitoring academic progress and providing feedback in a diplomatic and timely fashion.
- Manage classrooms to ensure a smooth and effective learning environment for all attendees, providing additional support to students as needed.
- Participate in student and community events and activities, demonstrating a commitment to the strengths and values of Indigenous knowledge, cultural reclamation, and traditional practices.
Requirements
- Two+ years of experience in teaching or training adult learners, preferably in a vocational college setting or similar.
- Post-Secondary Education in Education, Teaching for Life, is considered an asset.
- High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and organization, with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Dependable, approachable, adaptable, and flexible, with a strong commitment to the values of Indigenous knowledge and cultural reclamation.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic accounting principles.
