Health and Safety Manager

itec group, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Supervisor to join our team in the Niagara region. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees within our heavy industrial operations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Safety Programs: Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Conduct Inspections and Audits: Regularly inspect and audit work sites, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Incident Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations into workplace incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Training and Education: Provide training and education to employees on safety procedures, protocols, and best practices to ensure a culture of safety.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, laws, and industry standards.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans to ensure a swift and effective response to workplace emergencies.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of safety incidents, inspections, and training activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a health and safety role within a heavy industrial setting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software to maintain accurate records and reports.
