About the Role
Sunbelt Rentals of Canada Inc. is a leading equipment rental company seeking a highly skilled Regional Safety, Health & Environmental Manager to support our growth in Southern Ontario. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing all safety and health activities of the region and assigned business growth within the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement effective safety training programs for employees, including hazard avoidance, injury reporting, and injury management.
- Investigate and analyze accidents and incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Collaborate with the Safety Director and other stakeholders to manage worker's compensation claims and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with business management, employees, and customers to promote a culture of safety and compliance.
- Lead the development of Job Safety Assessments (JSAs) for work with moderate to high exposure and promote the overall safety culture.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience and/or formal safety training (e.g., CRSP, CHSC, or similar combination of experience and continuing education).
- Senior leadership experience with excellent communication skills.
- Additional experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, materials handling, equipment operation, and/or transportation safety is an asset.
- Candidate must be able to travel and hold a valid passport and Ontario driver's license.
Physical Demands
The physical demands of this role may require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, occasional lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors.
