Salary Information

As a Clinical Pharmacist, you can expect a competitive salary package, including comprehensive health benefits coverage, ranging from $51.37 to $64.19 per hour.

Job Description

Clinical Pharmacy Services:

  • Provide individualized pharmacotherapy and patient medication counselling.
  • Consult with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to develop and discuss therapeutic plans.
  • Assist in developing drug therapy guidelines for individual disease conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Consult with healthcare teams to develop and discuss therapeutic plans.
  • Individualize patient medication therapy by referencing literature and patient demographic information.
  • Provide patient medication counselling regarding drug therapy.
  • Assist in developing drug therapy guidelines for individual disease conditions.
  • Participate in ward rounds, program team meetings, and provision of pharmacy services at the unit level.
  • Act as department resource person in the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Contribute items such as case studies and review articles to professional journals.
  • Provide instruction and/or supervision to pharmacy students and residents.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities through methods such as reviewing current practices and performing quality assurance audits.

Qualifications:

  • Current registration as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
  • Completion of an accredited Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Broad knowledge of organization policies, procedures, and standards of care.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based clinical pharmacy practice.
  • Ability to apply clinical pharmacy knowledge and make decisions with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other healthcare practitioners, patients, family members, and the public.
