Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Millwright to join our team at Canfor. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our sawmill equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on all mill machinery, including pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers, and chains.
  • Inspect equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Manage time effectively by assessing situations and determining the best course of action to assemble, move, replace, or dismantle machinery.
  • Apply knowledge, skills, and experience to troubleshoot issues, boost equipment reliability, and implement safe, reliable fixes.
  • Have great attention to detail to identify and request relevant parts to complete repairs in a timely manner.
  • Be accountable for assisting in a safe work environment for coworkers, customers, and visitors on site.

Requirements:

  • Red Seal Certification considered an asset but not required.
  • Physical capability to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs.
  • High degree of urgency.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers.
  • Knowledge of the lumber or industrial manufacturing process is an asset, as well as experience with welding procedures and equipment reliability.
