Sawmill Maintenance Expert

This role involves working as a skilled Certified Millwright responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of sawmill equipment. Your task will be to ensure the smooth operation of machinery, including pumps, conveyors, compressors, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Work with a high-performance team to maintain mill machinery, including rollers and chains, bearings, and pneumatic systems.
  • Manage time effectively by assessing situations and determining when to assemble, move, replace, or dismantle machinery.
  • Apply knowledge, skills, and experience to troubleshoot issues, boost equipment reliability, and implement safe, reliable fixes.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe work environment for coworkers, customers, and visitors.

Requirements:

  • Red Seal certification considered an asset but not required.
  • Physical capability to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs.
  • High degree of urgency.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers.
  • Knowledge of lumber or industrial manufacturing processes is an asset, as well as experience with welding procedures and equipment reliability.
