Correctional Health Services (CHS) is a specialized program providing care for clients who are incarcerated in one of BC's correctional facilities. Key Responsibilities

  • Establish therapeutic relationships with clients and assess their needs.
  • Contribute to the development and modification of individualized care plans.
  • Perform various nursing procedures, such as taking vital signs and communicating patient information to the healthcare team.
  • Monitor client status and report any concerns to the nurse-in-charge.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of client care.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses, plus 1 year of experience working with offenders and/or in secure healthcare settings.
  • Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Occupational First Aid Level 2 certification.
