Transformative Business Consultant Opportunity

Are you passionate about driving impactful change through innovative solutions? Our client, a forward-thinking government agency, is seeking a dynamic Business Consultant to spearhead the modernization of motor vehicle registry services in Alberta. This exciting 6-month contract will challenge you to optimize business processes, enhance operational efficiency, and collaborate closely with stakeholders to deliver transformative results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the implementation of modern, human-centric solutions to drive transformative change
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to streamline business processes and enhance operational efficiency
  • Utilize agile methodologies to deliver results in a dynamic and supportive team environment
  • Gain valuable experience in documenting user requirements and conducting comprehensive gap analyses
  • Play a key role in shaping the future of registry services in Alberta, contributing to meaningful, long-term improvements
Requirements:
  • Experience completing data maturity assessments for large enterprise initiatives
  • Experience collaborating on a team tasked to deliver a data strategy and roadmap for enterprise systems
  • Experience participating on data governance working teams
  • Strong knowledge of structured/unstructured databases, data modeling, data management, rapid/iterative development methodologies, and data governance tools
  • Knowledge of business analysis procedures and concepts and basic knowledge of other technical areas
  • Proven ability to effectively use complex analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving techniques
  • Demonstrated ability for clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency in diagramming & presentation tools
  • Ability to communicate (both verbal and written) issues in a clear and timely manner to build trusting partnerships with a wide variety of audiences and stakeholders
Qualifications:
  • Mandatory Qualifications:
    • 25 years - Experience completing enterprise system data source discovery, data element inventory, data consumer inventory, and defining the collection of supporting data catalogue definitions
    • 33 years - Experience creating and supporting the development of data governance frameworks to support enterprise business modernization requirements
  • Desirable Qualifications:
    • 13 years - Experience assessing and documenting gaps in data governance frameworks, including policy, procedures, standards, and solutions through current-state analysis
    • 23 years - Experience completing inventory and review of the complex government legislations / regulations, policies, and standards
    • 35 years - Experience conducting, facilitating and interpreting impact and risk assessments across multiple scenarios
    • 45 years - Experience developing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships across the organization, including executive level
    • 55 years - Experience documenting data management requirements, business processes, and workflows while conducting Data Maturity Assessments through interviews, surveys, and workshops
    • 63 years - Experience gathering requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases or scenarios, business analysis, and business process modeling
    • 73 years - Experience in Agile Projects
    • 85 years - Experience in a leadership and/or facilitation role
    • 93 years - Experience supporting communication and change management of complex data management issues that may be necessary to ensure delivery of complex registry program changes, such as centralized data products
    • 105 years - Experience using analytical and problem solving skills to plan and design creative solutions
    • 115 years - Experience with business writing, communication and documentation
    • 123 years - Experience with using JIRA or Revision Control System (RCS)
    • 133 years - Experience working with structured / unstructured databases, data modeling, data management, rapid/iterative development methodologies, and data governance tools
  • Desired Qualifications:
    • Active professional certification or accreditation in a related discipline from a recognized issuing body
    • Knowledge of various software development methodologies (i.e. agile, waterfall, scrum, Kanban, etc.)
    • 3 years of experience evaluating policies, programs, and initiatives using program development principles
    • 3 years of experience in gathering requirements from a diverse group of stakeholders across ministries or departments
    • 3 years of experience using analytical and problem solving skills to plan and design creative solutions
    • 3 years of experience with business writing, communication and documentation
    • 3 years of experience with change management
