Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled TIG welder to join our team at Velocity Machining & Welding Inc. As a TIG welder, you will be responsible for interpreting welding process specifications, operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, and ensuring that welds meet standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret welding process specifications and ensure that welds meet standards and specifications
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, including arc welding machines and gas welding machines
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes
  • Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
  • Computer-aided design (CAD)
  • Operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines
  • Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal
  • Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC)
  • Determine weldability of materials
  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
  • Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment
Requirements
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Pressure Welding Certification
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate
  • Fall Arrest Protection Training Course
  • Forklift Operator Certification
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, and physically demanding work. The candidate must be able to stand for extended periods and work in a variety of weather conditions.
