Laprairie is seeking a highly skilled Mobile Crane Operator to join our team. As a Mobile Crane Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating mobile cranes to lift and move heavy loads.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Crane Operations: Assemble, set up, and rig mobile cranes properly, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
  • Lift Execution: Execute lifts from routine to complex and extra-heavy lifts, interpreting load charts and calculating the crane's net capacity.
  • Apprentice Safety: Ensure the apprentice is in a safe location during operation.
  • Machine Maintenance: Shut down and secure the machine properly when unattended, and perform routine inspections and maintenance.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate hours of service records, safety reports, and work done on the crane.
  • Qualifications and Certifications:
    • International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 955 Membership: Must be a member in good standing.
    • Residency: Must have a local residence in Fort McMurray or be willing to relocate.
    • Red Seal Certification: Required.
    • Class 1 Driver's License: Required.
    • Crane and Heavy Machinery Experience: Required.
    • Load Chart Interpretation: Ability to interpret load charts.
    • Travel: Ability to travel.
    • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills.
    • Teamwork: Ability to work well with others.
    • Dedication: Dedicated work ethic.
    • First Aid Training: H2S alive / CSO certification.
