Job Title: Mobile Crane Operator

About the Role:

Laprairie is seeking a highly skilled Mobile Crane Operator to join our team. As a Mobile Crane Operator, you will be responsible for safely assembling, setting up, and rigging cranes for various construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, set up, and rig cranes with booms, extensions, and hook blocks
  • Execute lifts from routine to highly complex and extra-heavy lifts
  • Interpret load charts, including understanding notes and warnings, and calculate the crane's net capacity
  • Ensure the apprentice is in a safe place during operation
  • Shut down and secure the machine properly when unattended
  • Complete and maintain accurate hours of service records, safety reports, and other work done on the crane
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance as required
  • Uphold HSE regulations and be aware of site conditions that could affect crane operation

Requirements:

  • Member in good standing with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 955
  • Local residence in Fort McMurray or willingness to relocate
  • Red Seal Certification
  • Class 1 Driver's License
  • Experience with crane and heavy machinery operation
  • Ability to interpret load charts
  • Ability to travel
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Dedicated work ethic
  • First Aid Training / H2S alive / CSO
