About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Strategic Content to join our team at the University of Toronto. As a key member of our Advancement team, you will play a critical role in developing and executing strategic content initiatives that support our fundraising goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic content plans to support the Faculty's priorities and fundraising goals.
  • Conceptualize and execute highly persuasive multi-million-dollar fundraising proposals, cases for support, and other related projects.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to identify, research, and develop compelling ideas and narratives to shape the Faculty's external profile.
  • Prepare complex messages for various audiences, ensuring effective communication and timely delivery.
  • Develop and coordinate communications activities within the Office of Advancement and the Faculty's Communications team.
  • Act as a liaison between the Office of Advancement and the Communications team, ensuring consistency in messaging and branding.
  • Lead and execute advancement projects and strategic initiatives, requiring a high degree of responsiveness and confidentiality.
Requirements
  • University degree from a recognized institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in senior communications positions, with a focus on developing strategic content for high-profile marketing and communications initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding various audiences and developing messaging to reach them effectively.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and analytical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft 365 software programs.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise tact, and demonstrate diplomacy in a complex environment.

This role is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, pursuant to University policies and guidelines.
