Job Title: Director, Strategic Content

Join the University of Toronto's Office of Advancement as a key member of our team, responsible for developing and executing strategic content initiatives that support the Faculty's priorities.

About the Role:

The Director, Strategic Content will play a critical role in conceptualizing and executing highly persuasive multi-million-dollar fundraising proposals, cases for support, and other related projects. This individual will work closely with the Executive Director of Advancement & AVP of College Relations to identify, research, and develop compelling ideas and narratives to shape the Faculty's external profile as a significant destination for engagement and investment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop strategic content plans and messaging frameworks to support the Faculty's priorities
  • Conceptualize and execute highly persuasive fundraising proposals, cases for support, and other related projects
  • Collaborate with the Communications Team to ensure final deliverables are of impeccable quality and address stakeholder business objectives
  • Lead and execute advancement projects and strategic initiatives, requiring a high degree of responsiveness and confidentiality
  • Manage relationships and requests with tact, diplomacy, and persuasion, ensuring effective communication with a wide range of stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in senior communications positions, with a focus on developing strategic content for high-profile marketing and communications initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding various audiences and developing messaging to reach them effectively
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with proficiency in writing different types of correspondence, documents, and mediums for various audiences
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to navigate complex environments and communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion
