Job Title: Director, Strategic Content

Join the University of Toronto's Faculty of Arts & Science as we seek a highly skilled Director, Strategic Content to lead the development of strategic content in support of our priorities.

About the Role

The Director, Strategic Content will play a key role in conceptualizing and executing highly persuasive multi-million-dollar fundraising proposals, cases for support, and other related projects. This individual will be responsible for identifying, researching, and developing compelling ideas and narratives to shape the Faculty's external profile as a significant destination for engagement and investment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop strategic content in support of the Faculty's priorities
  • Conceptualize and execute highly persuasive fundraising proposals and cases for support
  • Identify and develop compelling ideas and narratives to shape the Faculty's external profile
  • Prepare complex messages for each intended audience, ensuring effective delivery and timely execution
  • Develop the Office of Advancement's strategic communications plans and coordinate communications activities within the Office and the Faculty's Communications team
  • Lead and execute advancement projects and strategic initiatives, requiring a high degree of responsiveness and confidentiality
Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in senior communications positions, with experience in developing strategic content for high-profile marketing and communications initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding various audiences and developing messaging to reach them effectively
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with proficiency in writing different types of correspondence, documents, and mediums for different audiences
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to translate technical research and financial data into understandable materials
  • Ability to navigate complex environments and communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals
