Physician Coverage Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a physician to provide coverage for the Hospitalist Medicine Service at the QEII. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing care to patients with a level of care equivalent to long-term care, cohorted at the VG Hospital from June to September. Payment will be sessional at a rate of $/day.
ResponsibilitiesPatients will require twice-weekly visits and as needed. The physician will be expected to be at the bedside within 20 minutes if a patient experiences a clinical change. There is no overnight call obligation. The physician will also be expected to attend weekly interdisciplinary team rounds. If a patient becomes medically unstable, an acute care Hospitalist will be available on site to support patient care and transfer if necessary.
We are seeking to schedule individual providers on a weekly basis, but are open to half weeks or days.
Qualifications- The successful candidate must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) is also required
